About Ochisen: Preserving History, One Stamp at a Time
Since 1998, Trusted Guardians of American Philatelic Heritage
Ochisen Inc. (ochisen.com) was founded in Palo Alto, California by a team of philatelic experts and historians dedicated to preserving America's postal legacy. For over two decades, we have served collectors, museums, and academic institutions across 75 countries. Our authenticated collections—including rare items such as the 1847 Franklin Z Grill and the 1918 Inverted Jenny—have been certified by the American Philatelic Society (APS), establishing us as a trusted authority in the field.
Our Mission
"Every Stamp Carries a Chapter of History"
We are committed to:
✅ Authenticity First: Triple-verified authentication by APS-certified experts with fully documented provenance
✅ Knowledge Sharing: Free public access to our digital archive (high-resolution scans of U.S. stamps 1847-1950) supporting academic research
✅ Community Building: Annual sponsorship of the USPS Youth Collecting Program to cultivate the next generation of philatelists
Professional Standards
- 📜 Industry Credentials: American Philatelic Society (APS) Institutional Member #APS-20987 with 100% certified specialist staff
- 🔍 Transparent Process: Every item includes our exclusive "Triple Verification System" (Certificate of Authenticity + Historical Documentation + Conservation Report + Blockchain Verification Code)
- 🌍 Preservation Ethics: Museum-grade acid-free preservation materials, developed in partnership with the Smithsonian Institution's National Postal Museum
Our Philosophy
"True collecting value lies not in market fluctuations, but in preserving tangible fragments of our shared human story. When you acquire a stamp from Ochisen, you're safeguarding a piece of America's heritage that might otherwise fade into obscurity."
— David Chen, Founder & APS Life Member
